In 2016, the Beijing Lawyers Association awarded fifty law firms, including Tian Yuan, the "2012 - 2014 Beijing Outstanding Law Firms" accolade.
In 2015, the 9th National Lawyer Congress was held in Beijing. Tian Yuan was again recognized as one of the “2011 - 2014 National Outstanding Law Firms”.
In 2014, Tian Yuan was acknowledged by the Beijing Municipal Justice Bureau and Beijing Lawyers Association as one of the “2013 - 2014 Outstanding Law Firms of the Year”.
In 2013, the Beijing Municipal Justice Bureau conferred Tian Yuan the "Beijing Legal Aid Advanced Collectives" award.
In 2012, Tian Yuan the Shenzhen office was established.
In 2011, according to the Asian Legal Business (ALB) publication, Tian Yuan was selected as a “Top 20 Development Law Firm”. Tian Yuan was awarded the “2008 - 2010 National Outstanding Law Firms” prize by the All-China Lawyers Association. Tian Yuan moved to CPIC Plaza. The number of registered firm personnel exceeded 200, and practicing lawyers exceeded 188 million yuan in billable earnings. The turnover was top ten among law firms in Beijing for 10 years in a row.
In 2010, according to ALB, Tian Yuan was selected as a “Top 20 National Development Law Firm”.
In 2009, Tian Yuan issued the very first security company IPO project after the implementation of newly-revised securities and corporate laws. (Tian Yuan provided legal services for Everbright Securities Co., Ltd.’s application for issuance of A-shares.)
In 2008, Tian Yuan was named “2005 - 2007 National Outstanding Law Firms” by the All-China Bar Association.
In 2007, Tian Yuan provided overall legal services for the first corporate bonds in China’s capital markets (Tian Yuan provided overall legal services for CSRC’s Approval of China Yangtze Power Co., LTD. bonds’ audit, issuance, and listing); the turnover exceeded 100 million yuan.
In 2006, Tian Yuan was the first law firm to operate on the changes of closed-end securities investment funds to open-end funds (Tian Yuan represented China Asset Management Company to transfer industrial securities and other securities investment funds from close-end funds to open-end funds).
In 2005, Tian Yuan was given the “National Excellent Law Firms” award by the China National Bar Association.
In 2004, Tian Yuan was entitled “Advanced Collectives of Beijing Justice Administration System” by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Justice and Beijing Municipal Bureau of Personnel. Tian Yuan represented Lenovo Group to become one of the IOC’s TOP partners.
In 2003, Tian Yuan was selected as “The Leading Law Firm in China” by the international authority law firms’ evaluation magazine Legal 500 (The Asia-Pacific).
In 2002, Tian Yuan was entrusted with providing relevant Chinese legal advice to Shenzhen Huawei Technologies co., LTD on the case of CISCO suing Huawei for infringing intellectual property rights in the US. Tian Yuan became one of the earliest Chinese professional law firms to get involved in international intellectual property disputes after China joined the WTO.
In 2001, Tian Yuan provided legal services for Lenovo Group, Air China, Bank of China, China Mobile, Haier Group, Yanjing Beer, etc. to become sponsors for the Beijing Olympic Games; Tian Yuan also provided legal services for Jiangxi Changyun Co., Ltd., Tsinghua Tellhow, Founder Technology, Chinascholars Group, Shenzhen Sinovo, and Chuangchun Heat Shrinkable Materials Co., Ltd.’s IPO and refinancing projects. Capital markets services became one of the main practice areas of Tian Yuan by this year.
In 2000, Tian Yuan moved to Corporate Square. Tian Yuan started a strategic transformation, comprehensively promoting corporate legal work such as enterprise restructuring, going public, M&A and reorganization, and investment and financing.
In 1999, Tian Yuan’s Shanghai Office was established. Founding partner Lihua Wang was awarded “The Best 10 Lawyers in Beijing” accolade.
In 1998, Tian Yuan was among the first 20 law firms recognized as an “Outstanding Law Firm at Ministry Level" by China's Ministry of Justice. Its turnover exceeded 20 million yuan.
In 1997, Tian Yuan was listed amongst the “Beijing Civilized Law Firms”. The number of practicing lawyers numbered over fifty.
In 1996, Tian Yuan office area expanded to 800 square meters, its turnover exceeding 10 million yuan. It became one of the largest law firms in China.
In 1995, Tian Yuan provided legal services for Founder Group‘s IPO in Hong Kong. Tian Yuan successfully acted as the agent for the Sichuan Building’s real estate dispute case, Guangdong SUBOR‘s IPR case, Karamay’s fire case, and WANGZHIHE’s trademark infringement case.
In 1994, the firm was renamed “Tian Yuan.” It was one of the first partnership law firms in China.
In 1993, Tian Yuan moved to Dabaike Building. Tian Yuan represented those domestic enterprises that suffered losses due to the Gulf War, filing international claims.
In 1992, Tian Yuan was established, and became one of the first six pilot cooperative law firms.
