Lihua WANG (王立华) joined Tian Yuan as one of the founding partners and has been the managing partner of Tian Yuan since then. Mr. Wang’s main practice areas are: Civil and Commercial Arbitration and litigation, intellectual property, securities. From year 1986 onwards, Mr. Wang has represented clients in around one thousand legal proceedings, amongst, the “RMB One Yuan” settlement of registered trademark “Wang Zhi He” infringement appeal case, the alleged infringement of know-how case of a company in Hainan Province brought by Foshan Ceramics Research Institute, the unfair competition case brought by Shenzhen Huawei against Shenzhen Zhongxing, the copyright and trademark infringement between Beijing New Oriental School and ETS are renowned cases. From the end of year 1993, Mr. Wang started to focus in securities. During the last ten years, Mr. Wang has participated in many transactions in enterprise restructuring, IPO, refinancing by public listed company, merger and acquisition, establishment of fund companies and issuance of fund.
Mr. Wang graduated from Peking University Law School and received LL.B. degree in 1984 and LL.M. degree in 1992. From 1984-1992, Mr. Wang worked in Peking University Law School. In 1988, he was involved in the co-establishment of “China Senior Judges Training Centre” by Peking University Law School and the Supreme People’s Court, and contributed to the systematic professional training of senior judges from all over the years.
In year 1999, Mr. Wang was awarded one of Beijing’s “Top Ten Lawyers”. Mr. Wang, as the only legal professional representative, is a member of the Expert Advisors group for Beijing municipal government. From March, 2005, Mr. Wang is the vice president of Beijing Municipal Lawyer Association. He is also a member of the Examination and Approval Committee for the Public Offering of Securities organized by CSRC in year 2005 and 2006.
Mr. Wang is the author of two books titled “The Legal Practice of the Public Offering and Listing of Shares in China” and “Litigation in Intellectual Property” published by Legal Publishing House of China, and have been chosen by Ministry of Justice and National Lawyers Association as the text books for professional training of lawyers around the year. In addition, the book “Warning Note of Legal Practice in Beijing” edited by Mr. Wang is the first ever documentation compilng and analyzing the precedents regarding the discipline actions taken by lawyers associations against wrongdoing legal attorneys and law firms. The book was published by China University of Politics and Laws Press.
