Mr. Yin received his Bachelor of Law from Peking University in 1984 and a Master of Law from the same school in 1987. He was a Ph.D. candidate in international law at Peking University before going to the U.S. in 1989 to do research and pursue his studies at the University of Maryland’s Department of Government & Politics.
Mr. Yin successfully completed an LL.M. program at Harvard Law School in 1994 and was admitted to the Illinois Bar, in addition to already being a member of the Chinese Bar. He began working full time at the Baker & McKenzie Chicago Office, while simultaneously continuing his education and receiving a J.D. degree in 1998 from The Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) Chicago-Kent College of Law. While working at Baker & McKenzie, he counseled numerous foreign clients pursuant to transactions in China, and also represented Chinese clients operating in the U.S.
Mr. Yin also has taught International Law at the Department of Law of Peking University.
Mr. Yin is a partner at the Beijing Tian Yuan Law Firm where he primarily works in the Corporate/M&A, Energy and Resources, and Cross-Border Investments/M&A divisions.
Mr. Yin has practiced extensively in the areas of international investment including overseas investment and foreign direct investment (FDI), M&A, reverse takeovers, corporate restructuring, PE fund financing, venture exploration and mining of mineral resources, venture capital investment, technology transfers, sports-related project transactions, and commercial arbitration.
