China Law & Practice 2017 Legal Award Presentation Ceremony is held in Beijing Park Hyatt in the evening of Sep. 14, during which, legal elites of all circles gather together, jointly making the most influential and innovative transactions and examples in the industry over the past year known to the public and reviewing the outstanding performance of Chinese law firms.
Tian Yuan has got 10 nominations including China Firm of the year, Capital Market Firm of the year, Competition Firm of the year, Dispute Resolution Firm of the year, Insurance Firm of the year, Project & Energy Firm of the year, etc., and finally won two Deals of the year, i.e.:
M&A Deal of the Year: Dalian Wanda Commercial Properties $4.4B privatization
Tian Yuan, after assisting Wanda Commercial Properties in its listing in Hong Kong in 2014 which becoming the biggest IPO project in real estate at that time, assisted Wanda Commercial Properties again in its completion of its H stock privatization and delisting.
Project & Energy Deal of the Year: China Three Gorges' $1.7B Karot, Pakistan hydropower plant
Tian Yuan, as the legal adviser of the investor China Three Gorges Corporation, provides legal services for the key project of China-Pakistan energy corridor – Pakistan Karot Hydropower Plant, which is not only among the first batch of “The Belt and Road” projects, but also the first project invested after the founding of Silk Road Fund, in which, International Finance Corporation and Silk Road Fund participated in the equity financing, and Export-Import Bank of China, China Development Bank, International Finance Corporation and Silk Road Fund offered limited resource project financing for this project. This project not only provides high-quality clean energy power for Pakistan, but also offers over 2,000 direct employment jobs for Pakistan, while greatly driving the coordinated development and industrial upgrading of local electric power supporting industry.
