Mr Gao practices in the international and/or cross-border dispute resolutions about 20 years with extensive experiences. He often sits as sole arbitrator or co-arbitrator in various commercial arbitrations. Mr Gao also owns capability on the investment and compliance areas.

In international arbitration, Mr. Gao represented domestic and international clients in international commercial and maritime arbitrations under the administered arbitration rules of ICC, LMAA, SCC, AAA-ICDR, HKIAC, CIETAC, SCIA, BAC, SHIAC and Ad Hoc arbitration under UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules. The seat of arbitration covers Stockholm, London, California, Singapore, Hong Kong and Mainland China, the arbitration languages include English and Chinese.

In cross-border litigation, Mr. Gao often appears before the Supreme Court of China and various High Court and Intermediate Court around China acting for domestic and international clients in numerous complex civil and commercial cases. Mr. Gao also acted as co-counsel in the international dispute heard by the courts in England, New York, California, Sharjah, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan and other jurisdictions.

In investment, Mr. Gao has experience in cross-border IPO and merger and acquisition, foreign direct investment, technology development and transfer, real estate development, engineering procurement and construction, airlines charter etc.

In compliance and regulatory matters, Mr. Gao handled administrative cases and cases across criminal and civil matters involving fraud, taxation, trademark, anti-trust, customs, public security etc. Mr Gao also owns experience in the US export control law and customs law as well as China’s.

With aspiration to move the development of the legal profession, Mr. Gao often organizes various bona fide activities, gets invited to make speeches, and publishes dozens of articles in law journals.
